Arrival by train

Arrival at Station Berlin Hauptbahnhof / Lehrter Bahnhof

Online Schedule

From Berlin Hauptbahnhof / Lehrter Bahnhof either switch to light rail (S-Bahn). Take any eastbound train that is going via Friedrichstraße, Alexanderplatz, Ostbahnhof. Get off at the station Friedrichstraße and switch to the subway U6 (northbound, direction Alt Tegel). Get off at the station Naturkundemuseum. Leave the station through the backward exit (i.e. in the direction you came from). You are now at the crossing of Chausseestraße and Invalidenstraße. Walk westwards (turn right) and follow the Invalidenstraße for about 200 meters (passing a Hotel) until you see the Natural History Museum (Museum für Naturkunde) to your right.

Or walk from Berlin Hauptbahnhof / Lehrter Bahnhof the Invalidenstraße into the East. You pass the Hamburger Bahnhof (nowadays a museum of contemporary art) and will reach the Museum für Naturkunde after approximately 15 minutes foot walk. You might catch a bus for one station also. The later way is probably the best choice with not so much luggage.

Switch to the light rail platform (S-Bahn). Take any westbound-train going via Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Zoologischer Garten. Get off at the station Friedrichstraße and switch to the subway U6 (northbound, direction Alt Tegel). Get off at the station Naturkundemuseum. Leave the station through the backward exit (i.e. in the direction you came from). You are now at the crossing of Chausseestraße and Invalidenstraße. Walk westwards (turn right) and follow the Invalidenstraße for about 200 meters (passing Hotel xxx) until you see the Natural History Museum (Museum für Naturkunde) to your right.

Take Bus #128 to Kurt Schumacher Platz. From there, take the subway U6 (southbound, direction Alt Mariendorf). Get off at the station "Naturkundemuseum". Leave the station through the "forward" exit (i.e. in the direction of your subway). You are now at the crossing of Chausseestraße and Invalidenstraße. Walk westwards (turn right) and follow the Invalidenstraße for about 200 meters (passing Hotel xxx) until you see the Natural History Museum (Museum für Naturkunde) to your right.

Take the subway U6 (northbound, direction Alt Tegel). Get off at the station Naturkundemuseum. Leave the station through the backward exit (i.e. in the direction you came from). You are now at the crossing of Chausseestraße and Invalidenstraße. Walk westwards (turn right) and follow the Invalidenstraße for about 200 meters (passing Hotel xxx) until you see the Natural History Museum (Museum für Naturkunde) to your right.

The fastest route is to take one of the regional trains going twice an hour. These are labeled Airport Express, direction should be one of Rathenow (RE 4) or Wismar (RE 2). Get off at the station Friedrichstraße and switch to the subway U6 (northbound, direction "Alt Tegel"). Get off at the station Naturkundemuseum. Leave the station through the backward exit (i.e. in the direction you came from). You are now at the crossing of Chausseestraße and Invalidenstraße. Walk westwards (turn right) and follow the Invalidenstraße for about 200 meters (passing Hotel xxx) until you see the Natural History Museum (Museum für Naturkunde) to your right.
